Loughborough Enterprise Office in partnership with IPSO Ventures is pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new initiative to develop enterprise skills and improve the success of research commercialisation.
The ExcellENT Programme, supported by the EPSRC, is focusing on specific research areas of the University in turn - this time Energy and Environmental Technology.
It comprises of two complimentary activities:
1. A series of interactive workshops on commercialisation-related subjects for small groups of researchers and research students. These will be lead by IPSO Directors and other senior business experts and held in the Innovation Centre in mid May through to early June. The first workshop is on 13th May at 10am-2pm, entitled "Research to Reward - The Early Steps", and will give participants insight into the realities of early stage research commercialisation. 2. IPSO is arranging for Clive Weatherby, a highly successful entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in clean energy and environmental technology sector, to visit researchers who work in areas he has direct experience of. Clive will bring a real-world demand perspective to research and has been charged with identifying new inventions or potential research applications. It may also lead to new opportunities for consultancy and collaborative research with industry.
